Ginger House Menue

It's been a while since Antrim became large enough to warrant its own Chinese restaurant (you know, where you get one for every 2,500 people...that's why Hillsborough...just north of us...gets 3)--but clearly it's hard to make a living off fortune cookies in our town so we are now at our third incarnation in the same location. The latest version is called "Ginger House Asian Cuisine Restaurant," and my wife and I visited it on a "date" today. Short version: pretty darn good...

As soon as Michelle and I walked through the door we could tell Ginger House was taking a different approach than Antrim's previous attempts. Not only have they put some effort into atmosphere, they have decided to use waitstaff (you can still just grab take-out too). Michelle ordered "Singapore Mai Fun" (without cury), I selected "Seafood Combination" (minus squid), and we shared "Sushi and Sashimi Combination" as an appetizer (along with each getting an unexpected serving of Miso Soup)

Everything was very tasty and the prices were more than reasonable (although the soup wasn't as salty as I expected and Michelle thought the sashimi was a little large and not cool enough). The employees were very attentive and congenial--the only thing wrong was the same song played over-and-over almost the entire time we were there. When I asked them if that was intentional, it was pretty clear it wasn't :-), and shortly thereafter we got to hear something new.

Ginger House clearly earns a great 4 out of 5 moose. We look forward to returning again, and will be recommending it to all our friends.

I agree. Ginger House is the trend setter for the area. I was very happy to hear GH has sushi and sashimi. The folks at GH are an enthusiastic bunch. The prices are also deecent---just what everybody should wish for. Good Luck GH.
